Cally Eckles serves as a Partner and Chief Operations Officer of Mac Strategies Group. With an impressive record of success helping to develop consistent growth for the firm, Eckles handles overall staff and business operations and also lends her expertise to the firm’s growing public affairs practice, while managing several of the firm’s corporate accounts. She works hands-on with corporations, trade associations and issue-based coalitions seeking to enhance their profile and impact public opinion.
Eckles has been with the firm since 2008 and has taken a lead with the corporate side of the practice. With a wealth of experience in planning and logistics, Eckles has brought a tremendous value in organizing event specific media tours in new markets coast to coast. She has introduced clients to new industry concepts and guided them through the process of developing a comprehensive communications strategy—including social media—building stronger brands and increasing the reach and impact of numerous campaigns. Clients routinely appear in television, radio, print and online publications in Illinois and across the country.
Prior to Mac Strategies Group, Eckles served two senior members of Congress, and further honed her policy experience working in a governmental affairs role for a prominent national specialty healthcare trade association. Her experience in dealing with complex public policy issues, organizing grassroots lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill, and ability to connect with multiple state legislatures is a valuable asset for the firm’s growing public affairs practice. She has demonstrated intergovernmental experience at all levels including federal, state and local governments. Whether tasked to mobilize grassroots leaders, establish and build a new coalition, or lead successful media campaigns, Eckles has consistently delivered strong results.
Cally is a member of Chicago Women in Government Relations (CWGR), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), National Football Foundation - Chicago Metro Chapter and is a Luminary member of the Step Up for Women's Network. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and currently resides in Chicago’s South Loop.
