Allison Buehner is an Account Executive for Mac Strategies Group, assisting account teams with media outreach, drafting communication materials, social media content, and conducting research to achieve strategic objectives aligned with clients’ goals. Her passion lies in using data to improve communication and enhance brand awareness in an effective and engaging way to reach the intended audience.
Buehner has a broad background in communications ranging from public relations, to marketing, to social media. She began her career through an internship at one of the largest international public relations firms in Chicago. There, she maintained project timelines, developed social media content, and helped manage client relations. While still in school, Allison completed an internship and WUIS-FM radio, the National Public Radio affiliate in Springfield, Illinois. She also interned for Springfield’s Illinois Issues magazine, a prominent statehouse journal dedicated to providing fresh, provocative analysis of public policy with a special focus on Illinois government and politics.
Allison is a member of the Illinois Society of Association Executives (ISAE), and serves as the youngest Director on the national board for the Association for Women in Communications (AWC). She is the Chair of the Marketing Communications Committee for AWC, leading a team of professional, volunteer women to achieve AWCs marketing objectives. She creates and manages the organization’s content calendar and develops materials for the organization’s social media accounts, blog, and monthly newsletter.
In her free time, Buehner volunteers her talents with the American Cancer Society, and has managed their Walk and Roll Chicago social media accounts on the day of the annual event for the past several years. She also works with the Chicago Lights Tutoring Program, helping high school juniors and seniors with professional development skills.
Allison Buehner is a graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational and Leadership Communication Studies and a minor in Business Administration. A central Illinois native, Allison currently resides in Chicago’s Wrigleyville neighborhood.
